Today I am sharing a closer look at one of the biggest organs in our body, our liver. With over 100 different liver diseases, it’s important that we are vigilant in protecting this vital organ and understanding these conditions. For instance, the liver disease NASH (Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis) can go undetected for decades because symptoms are often minimal until the disease has advanced. NASH, which results when fat builds up in the liver causing inflammation, is a growing health problem that is already the second-leading cause of liver transplant in the U.S. By 2020, it’s expected to be first. If you…

Have a Spooktacular time at SeaWorld San Antonio Halloween this month. SeaWorld San Antonio hosts one of the largest Halloween destinations in the state of Texas. The Spooktacular and Howl-O-Scream celebration features fun for the entire family bringing the haunts and goblins out for an extraordinary day of fun. We were there to witness the 30-acre transformation of a kid-friendly Halloween party to a terrifying evening of scary fun. We played the day away watching all of our favorite shows, joining in on the trick or treat fun and ending out the evening with a Fright Feast. I love that Halloween is not a one-day event,…

This post is sponsored in collaboration with the Texas MedClinic. All thoughts expressed are my own. There’s a new urgent care in town. The Texas MedClinic Spring Branch location has opened its doors at Singing Hills. This location is conveniently located at Hwy 46 and 281 and operates 7 days a week from 8 AM to 11 PM. I was invited to preview the new location last month and sit down with Dr. Gude to learn more about how these clinics operate to provide the best care for patients. Texas Medclinics have been my go-to alternative when we have an after-hours situation…

This post is sponsored by Mealthy MultiPot and contains affiliate links. We are deep into the trenches of homeschooling, soccer and football. With four kids my time is spread thin and I am always trying to provide my family of six with quality meals that won’t take me hours to make. I started using my Mealthy Multipot in July and it has made all those family favorite recipes less time consuming.  The Mealthy MultiPot cuts the cooking time down to almost nothing and allows me to adapt our family favorite recipes using the MultiPot. Our very favorite meal when fall starts to set in is beef…

This post is sponsored by Mirum, but opinions expressed are my own. I’ve officially made another trip around the sun. Birthdays are so much different now than they were for me as a kid. I tend to focus more on my health and less on the actual celebration of it all. Waking up a year older, I have to laugh at the fact that I have more little nuisances going on than ever. I went to bed last night after a bout of heartburn and as I walked down the stairs this morning I wondered why my knee ached. I…

I’m going down memory lane today and taking you with me for a look back at my San Antonio Maternity Shoot. I originally posted these photos over on my original blog. Two years ago today I was waddling along with a teeny tiny baby in this big ole belly. My little sunshine stayed put until September 26, 2016, she was my longest pregnancy hitting the 38th week. When I found out I was pregnant I had every intention of documenting the bump, but in true pregnancy fashion, I was nauseous, exhausted and struggling to keep up with my three boys. Next thing I know,…

This post is sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods. The content and opinions expressed are my own. We did it Y’all, my high schooler has made the huge leap from homeschooling and is now officially enrolled in school. We are entering the world of back-to-school shopping and knee deep in all the prepping and planning to start a new year. Granted I haven’t had to do this back-to-school thing since he was in elementary school, but it’s a whole different vibe to prep a teenager. We made a trip toDICK’S Sporting Goods over the weekend and left with all the things…
